What jobs need doing in December in the garden? Well if you have been following this weekly newsletter you should have most of them done by now ;-). Any overwintering vegetables should be sown by now, and last years vegetable beds should have been dug over and manure applied to them. The greenhouse should be clean and tidy, with any tender plants either indoors or protected by fleece or something similar.

If you are up to date with all the jobs in the garden, it's time to put your feet up and get the seed catalogues out and plan out next years crops.

For me this weekend I have a non-gardening task to complete and that is to rebuild one of our chicken pens after after a Badger attack earlier this week. We lost five of our chickens in about three hours. It's one thing to make a Fox proof pen, but Badgers take a little more stopping.
