Autumn is well and truly here now. High winds and rain for most of us should soon the see the landscape transformed into a more autumnal look. Leaves of course will mean raking and composting in a leaf mould bin, which is exactly what I will build this week. We have a lot of leaves to collect here so a medium bin is required. Four fence posts are placed in the ground to form a rectangle 2m x 4m, and then chicken wire is wrapped around the posts to form a barrier of 1.5m high. A piece of chicken wire can be used to lay on top of the leaves, as they are added to the bin, to stop the leaves blowing about.

Other jobs this week will include sowing next years sweetpeas in the greenhouse.
